As the second wave of COVID-19 has struck with a devastating impact throughout the country, with cases rising continuously, there is an urgent need to ramp up the production of Covaxin and Covishield through voluntary licensing, said Sanjay Aggarwal, President, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, in a press statement.

Voluntary Licensing refers to the authorisation given by the patent holder to a third party to manufacture and sell the patented product on the basis of mutually agreed terms.

The second wave of COVID-19 pandemic is spreading faster than the first wave and affecting almost every household in India. At this critical juncture there is a need to urgently provide licensing of production of Covaxin, Covishield and Sputnik, said Aggarwal.

He stated that compulsory licensing is another way of granting a license by the Government to a third party to use the patent, however, this may not be

Titanium is known as a transition metal on the periodic table of elements
denoted by the symbol Ti. It is a lightweight, silver-gray material with
an atomic number of 22 and an atomic weight of 47.90. It has a density of

, which is somewhere between the densities of aluminum and stainless
steel. It has a melting point of roughly 3,032°F (1,667°C) and a
boiling point of 5,948°F (3,287 C). It behaves chemically similar to
zirconium and silicon. It has excellent corrosion resistance and a high
strength to weight ratio.

Titanium is the fourth most abundant metal making up about 0.62% of the
earth’s crust. Rarely found in its pure form, titanium typically
exists in minerals such as anatase, brookite, ilmenite, leucoxene,
perovskite, rutile, and sphene. While titanium is relatively abundant, it
continues to be expensive because it is difficult to isolate. The leading

Pretzels are a snack food, which have unique shapes and a hard, shiny
outer surface. They are mass produced using primarily automated machinery.
First developed in the seventh century, pretzels have been called one of
the world’s oldest snack food. A recent market survey found that
the pretzel market in the United States is about $560 million a year with
over 300 million lb (136.2 million kg) of pretzels and pretzel products
being produced. The pretzel market has grown in recent years because
pretzels are considered a more healthy, fat-free snack.

The unique, two looped, knot shape of a pretzel is one of its defining
characteristics. The typical pretzel has a pleasant cracker-like flavor, a
crisp, brittle texture and a brown glossy surface color. Salt crystals are
often sprinkled on its surface to make them taste more appealing. Pretzels
have a moisture content of anywhere from 2-4% and therefore

Air-compressor manufacturer Elgi Equipments has increased the capacity to manufacture compressors for specific models of oxygen generation plants.

Jairam Varadaraj, managing director of Elgi Equipments, informed the media that the company had increased its capacity almost threefold for specific models that were in demand in the oxygen sector.

“We are diverting our capacities that are there for other products to this sector now,” said Mr. Varadaraj.

“We are reaching out to customers and talking to them and taking their concurrence. So, it is a comprehensive approach,” he added. “We continue our support to our subsidiaries because we cannot compromise on deliveries in the international market because of the demand for oxygen in India.” The company expects 10%-15 % of its revenue for this quarter from the oxygen sector.

“We are not looking at oxygen as a business opportunity. We are looking at it as a social responsibility,” Mr. Varadaraj asserted.

New Delhi [India], May 12 (ANI): Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting to allow other companies with “capabilities”, to manufacture the two COVID-19 vaccines–Covaxin and Covishield–being already produced in India.
Kejriwal said the Union government can “do away” with vaccine production monopoly using the patent law.
“The second wave of COVID-19 is proving very fatal. This time the disease has reached the village. A large number of people are also dying. It is, therefore, important that all the citizens of the country are given two doses of vaccine at the earliest. Currently, only two companies in India are producing vaccines. It will not be possible to vaccinate the entire county on the basis of two companies. For this, the vaccine will have to be produced on a war footing,” the letter from Kejriwal read.

A nail consists of a metal rod or shank, pointed at one end and usually
having a formed head at the other, that can be hammered into pieces of
wood or other materials to fasten them together. A nail is usually made of
steel, although it can be made of aluminum, brass, or many other metals.
The surface can be coated or plated to improve its corrosion resistance,
gripping strength, or decorative appearance. The head, shank, and point
may have several shapes based on the intended function of the nail. Of the
nearly 300 types of nails made in the United States today, most are used
in residential housing construction. The average wood frame house uses
between 20,000 and 30,000 nails of various types and sizes.

Nails are divided into three broad categories based on their length. In
general nails under 1 inch (2.5 cm) in length are called

Insulin is a hormone that regulates the amount of glucose (sugar) in the
blood and is required for the body to function normally. Insulin is
produced by cells in the pancreas, called the islets of Langerhans. These
cells continuously release a small amount of insulin into the body, but
they release surges of the hormone in response to a rise in the blood
glucose level.

Certain cells in the body change the food ingested into energy, or blood
glucose, that cells can use. Every time a person eats, the blood glucose
rises. Raised blood glucose triggers the cells in the islets of Langerhans
to release the necessary amount of insulin. Insulin allows the blood
glucose to be transported from the blood into the cells. Cells have an
outer wall, called a membrane, that controls what enters and exits the
cell. Researchers do not yet know exactly how insulin works,

Among these the most important was the manufacture of the native cloth,–‘tappa’,–so well known, under various modifications, throughout the whole Polynesian Archipelago.
“I should like to know how the weavers are getting on with my cloth,” said the Emperor to himself, after some little time had elapsed; he was, however, rather embarrassed, when he remembered that a simpleton, or one unfit for his office, would be unable to see the manufacture. To be sure, he thought he had nothing to risk in his own person; but yet, he would prefer sending somebody else, to bring him intelligence about the weavers, and their work, before he troubled himself in the affair.
“I am a great inventor, you must know, and I manufacture my products in this lonely spot.”
