Important: Starting in July 2022, the Google My Business mobile app will be transitioned to the Google Maps app. You can start managing your Business Profile on the Google Maps app. If you don’t have the Google Maps app, download it now to easily update your business information and connect with your customers. Start managing your profile on the Google Maps app.

With a Business Profile on Google Maps and Search, you can:

Who can manage a Business Profile on Search & Maps

Important: If you were recently verified or added to a Business Profile as an owner or manager, it might take 14 days before you get the option to manage the profile directly on Google Search or Maps. In the meantime, you can use Business Profile Manager on the web.

Who can manage a Business Profile: People with owner and manager permissions for the Business Profile.

Who can’t manage a Business Profile on Search or Maps (they should use Business Profile Manager instead): 

  • People who manage more than 100 businesses through a single account (including through a Business Group).
  • People who manage a business with a future opening date set for more than 90 days into the future.
Tip: When a Business Profile is managed on Search and Maps, Google may still update it using a variety of sources, such as user reports and licensed content. Learn how to manage Google updates.

Own or manage a Business Profile

The Business Profile is displayed to the public and shows up in search results when users search for your business. However, only owners and managers of the profile can create posts and reply to reviews.

Tip: To find how your profile shows up to people who are not owners or managers, use Incognito mode in Google Chrome or Maps.

Manage your Business Profile on Google Search and Maps

To manage your profile directly on Google Search:

  1. Go to your Business Profile. Learn how to find your profile.
  2. In the menu above the search results, choose Edit profile, Promote, or Customers.

Manage your Business Profile on the Google Maps app

To manage your profile directly on the Google Maps app:

  1. Go to your Business Profile. Learn how to find your profile.
  2. Choose Edit profile, Promote, or Customers.

Important: There are no changes to how customers can find and interact with your Business Profile. You can continue to access your Business Profile data through the Google Maps mobile app and Google Search. 

  1. Download the Google Maps app on your mobile devices. Learn how to download the Google Maps app.
    • Tip: On the Google My Business app, tap Manage on Maps to switch to Google Maps app. 
  2. Use the same Google Account you use to sign into your Business Profile. 
  3. To access your Business Profile, in Google Maps app, tap your profile photo or initial   Your Business Profile.

Stop managing your Business Profile

You can add or remove other owners and managers from a profile, or remove a business from your account:
