TEMPORARY CE CHANGES DUE TO COVID-19

Massage therapy continuing education requirements for license renewal vary from state to state and the laws are constantly changing. It is our current understanding that for license renewal Florida requires massage therapists to complete 24 CE hours by August 31st of each odd-numbered year. NOTE: The HIV/AIDS CE requirement is no longer required for license renewal – just for initial licensure.

The 24 CE hours must include at least 2 CE hours in Professional Ethics, 2 CE hours in the prevention of Medical Errors, at least 2 CE hours in Florida Laws and Rules, and 1 CE hour on human trafficking. A minimum of 12 hours must be in CE considered LIVE training.

What We Can Do For You!

  • If you have completed at least 12 hours through courses that have been approved by the board as LIVE, then you may take up to 12 hours through our home study programs for the 2019-2021 biennial renewal. Our courses are NOT approved for live hours.
  • You can choose from any of our six specially priced Florida packages that will include the ethics, medical errors and law requirements. We do not currently offer a human trafficking program.
  • As a Florida Board of Massage Approved Continuing Education Provider (#50-1017) we offer over 145+ continuing education courses that you can use toward your license renewal requirements. EXCEPTION: The Florida Board will not approve the Therapeutic Techniques of Deep Tissue Massage: Part II course, due to the total length of video included. All other programs are approved by the Board.

If you would like to verify this information, or have further questions regarding your massage therapy continuing education requirements, we suggest contacting the Florida Board of Massage directly. The telephone number for the Florida Board is 850-245-4161 or visit their website at http://floridasmassagetherapy.gov/.
